Officially Employed

I had a great interview today at Park East Animal Hospital in NYC. I arrived early so I decided to go and take a walk to the Central Park Zoo which is only a few blocks away. In the few free minutes that I had, I got to watch the sea lions being fed.
I was hired on the spot at the animal hospital and start tomorrow morning! One of my co-workers from the CSVC (where I worked last year) is currently employed at Park East so I am excited to already have friends there. I can't wait to start working and to actually utilize all of the knowledge that I have gained this year.
Wish me luck on my first day!

Help Save Lewis

Lewis is a 6 year old male cat that has been in the news a lot lately. He has allegedly attacked an Avon lady and a neighbor and now may be sentanced to death. His owner is willing to take measures including keeping him inside to make sure that he has minimal contact with strangers rather then euthanizing him. Their is also an animal haven that is willing to take Lewis to spare his life. Please visit the link below and sign the petition to Save Lewis! Lewis also has a Cafe Press store in which proceeds go to pay for his legal fees:

25% Veterinarian!

I am done with my first year of veterinary school! I can't believe how fast it went by. I am going to be spending my summer working at home in NY and will be heading back to California in early August to start my second year of veterinary school. Even though I am officially on summer vacation, I have been reading a chapter of my anatomy text every single night. I also finally have had a chance to read some of those veterinary magazines such as Compendium, that have been piling up in my mailbox since September.
After finals, their was a big end of the year party sponsored by the student government. The pictures above are of the party and our cake.
I can't believe how much I have learned in just one year and I can't believe that I only have three years left!
