Jeeves

Meet Jeeves. He is a handsome male adult cat that has taken to living in the bushes outside of my house. He is really sweet and needs a home! I am planning to get him neutered during the next spay/neuter clinic at school. After he is neutered I would like to find him a loving home. If you are interested in adopting him please email me.

Busy as Ever

I am still extremely busy with school. I am an officer in both the Student Chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners (SCAAFP) as well as the Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians (SCASV). Both clubs are very active so I have been busy helping to organize all of the events that the clubs will be sponsoring this year. For example, last week the SCAAFP sponsored a lunch talk entitled, Vaccinology The Good The Bad and The Ugly given by Dr. Alice Wolf. Last week was also the first vaccine clinic at the Inland Valley Humane Society (which I volunteer at through the SCASV). I was able to vaccinate probably over 100 dogs in less then 2 hours. While I usually feel that a vaccine protocol should be individualized to each patient, I do feel a need for vaccinations in the community that I am currently living in. Many of the people where I live still think of dogs as outside animals and therefore live their lives in the backyard and often escape and roam the streets. The vaccine clinic allows me protect many of these dogs against Rabies and respiratory infections that they might encounter living outside.
My classes are still as hard as they were a few weeks ago. This week I am studying Dystocia in Cows. This afternoon in lab I was able to practice delivering calves using chains.
I want to thank everyone who has been donating money through the website. I try to respond personally to each donation, however with school taking up so much of my time sometimes I do not get a chance to respond for awhile.
